What we have been doing at Warlands this week

As we warned you last week, important changes were coming to WARLANDS. It’s only one change, but it’s a big change. It is the definitive modification of our graphics style.

We have transitioned to the new “toonish” style and abandoned our previous graphic line, as we had planned. In fact, sooner than we thought.

Why the change in graphic aesthetics?

We have already explained it in previous posts. There is no single reason, but if we had to summarize, we would say that there are two main groups of causes:

Aesthetic reasons: graphically, the game looks much more beautiful and attractive. Although we are undoubtedly a game with a competitive gene, the graphic section is also very important. A stunning aesthetic generates visual impact and is a good way to follow.

Technical reasons: we could go on at length about what we gain technically with this change (and in fact, we will do so in a future devblog), but if we had to make a clear summary, it would be the following: optimization. The game will be much more optimized. It will be able to be played from devices with lower requirements, more stable, and much higher performance.

What does the change mean?

The first result you have already seen: we have modified our demo. We didn’t expect to have a working demo with the new graphics so soon, but our development team is working hard, and we made it.

We thought it would be much more interesting for you to have a demo to test the game with the new graphic arts instead of continuing to develop an obsolete demo in the visual section. Therefore, in this new demo, you can try this for free without any commitment or problem with your assets, which are conveniently saved, and see where the game is moving forward.

What else have we done this week?

Warlands doesn’t stop even in summer. Our developers are working very hard in all areas of the game. We’re progressing on concept art development, movement, the responsive technical side of the game, the code, etc.

All this will be reflected in the next updates that, although they may not have a weekly character, they will have a periodic one.

On the other hand, this week, we have also attended one of the main events related to video games in India. The India Gaming Conclave 2022 has counted on our presence and has been a tremendously positive event for us. This week we will tell you more about it in detail.

Also, as we have been doing the last months, we have increased the contacts with clans and guilds. That is a very nice job as you are giving us a positive response and, at the same time, great feedback to improve the game.

As you can see, we do not stop, Warlands continues to meet its roadmap, and we are getting closer and closer to the beta; Greetings!
